Tutorial - Reception From Registration Module

Introduction

This tutorial covers two types of reception:

  • Container Reception - Receive registered plates (example: DNGPLATE00100)
  • Rack Reception - Receive registered racks with vials (example: RDNG0001)

Prerequisites

Required permissions and setup

Sample Reception role is required to access this workflow.

Required system configuration:

  • For Container Reception: Plate Type: Greiner PP96V, Container Usage: Inventory
  • For Rack Reception: Vial Type: 1 Dram Vial, Container Usage: Inventory

These should exist by default in the Sample application.

Workflow

Job Initialization

Create a new job and select the appropriate workflow based on the type of container you want to receive:

  • Container Reception - From Registration Module
  • Rack Reception - From Registration Module

Requesting

The process varies slightly based on container type:

For Container Reception (Plates)

  • Set Use External Barcode as the Target Container Barcode
  • Set Inventory as the Target Container Usage
  • Select Greiner PP96V (8x12) as the Target Container Type
  • Click Search Container(s)

A pop-up opens with a list of all valid containers ready to be received. Select DNGPLATE00100, DNGPLATE0011, DNGPLATE0022, DNGPLATE0033 and click Receive 4 container(s). The four plates appear in the requests report and are valid.

For Rack Reception

  • Set Use External Barcode as the Target Rack Barcode
  • Set Use External Barcode as the Target Vial Barcode
  • Set Inventory as the Target Vial Usage
  • Select 1 Dram Vial as the Target Vial Type
  • Click Search Rack(s)

A pop-up opens with a list of all valid racks ready to be received. Select RDNG0001, RDNG0002, RDNG0003, RDNG0004, RDNG0005 and click Receive 5 rack(s). The five racks appear in the requests report and are valid.

Click Next to proceed.

Storing

The Storing step allows you to assign a location to the items involved in the job. Here, you assign a location to the received containers (plates or racks).

  • Click Assign Location to Selected
  • Select Paris and click Select to confirm your choice
  • Click Next

Pipe & Close

The Pipe & Close step provides a summary page where you can review the job and optionally pipe it to another workflow. You can also pipe this job to another one, allowing you to immediately start a new job using the received containers from this one.

For this tutorial, click the Close & Quit button to finish the job.
