Plate Splitting

The Plate Splitting workflow in Sample enables users to split a plate into several new plates with a smaller format. For example, you can use a 384-well plate to create four 96-well plates. This process is a fundamental plate processing operation that increases the number of plates, which is the best way to statistically analyze test results.

With this workflow, you can:

  • Split larger format plates into multiple smaller format plates
  • Prepare replicates for statistical analysis
  • Redistribute samples for different experimental requirements
  • Adapt plate formats to match downstream analysis needs

This workflow is useful for redistributing samples, preparing replicates, or adapting plate formats for different experimental needs.

All splitting actions are fully traceable within Sample, ensuring accurate record-keeping and supporting reproducible laboratory operations.
