Common Errors

Only a dot (.) is allowed as the decimal separator. Do not use a comma (,).

Registration Errors

Sample error at registration: comma used as decimal separator A comma appears in your file as a decimal separator. Change it to a dot.

Registration Warnings

Error Message Involved Column How to Fix It
Quantity must be numeric and positive VOLUME In Administration, edit the quantity to use this format: 5.5.
Concentration must be null, numeric, and positive CONCENTRATION In Administration, edit the concentration to either delete or update it to this format: 5.5.
Unknown quantity unit QUANTITY_UNIT In Core Administration, go to the unit section to find the list of registered units. Select the desired unit or create a new one if you have the necessary rights.
Unknown concentration unit CONCENTRATION_UNIT In Core Administration, go to the unit section to find the list of registered units. Select the desired unit or create a new one if you have the necessary rights.
Unknown solvent SOLVENT_NAME In Sample Administration, go to the solvent section to find the list of registered solvents. Select the desired solvent or create a new one if you have the necessary rights.
A full valid position is required ROW_ALPHA In Administration, delete the involved plate, correct the file, and submit it in a new job.
A full valid position is required COLUMN_INDEX In Administration, delete the involved plate, correct the file, and submit it in a new job.
Several vials found in this rack position. RACK_BARCODE, ROW_ALPHA and COLUMN_INDEX From the Administration, delete the involved plate, correct the file and submit it in a new job again.

Unknown container format CONTAINER_FORMAT Edit the container format to match a valid format in Reference Data.
Unknown Plate library PLATE_LIBRARY Edit the plate library to match a valid entry in Reference Data.
Incorrect rack position RACK_POSITION Edit the rack position to match the expected format for the selected rack type.
Incorrect well position according to the plate format. From the Administration, delete the wells with incorrect positions.
Unknown Control Layout. The control layout doesn't exist in Reference Data: add it or select an existing one by editing the container.
Incorrect control layout size according to the plate format. The control layout and the plate format are incompatible. Edit one of them to be consistent.

Registration warnings on Annotations

Error Message How to fix it
Unknown annotation. The annotation doesn't exist anymore in Reference Data. From Reference Data, create the annotation or delete it.
Multiple annotations with the same name. There are multiple annotations with the same name for the same container. Delete them in order to only keep one.
The value can''t be empty. Fill the annotation value by editing the annotation or delete it.
The value is supposed to be a number. Edit the annotation and enter a number instead of other characters.
The value is not contained in the control vocabulary of the annotation. Edit the annotation and select a controlled value or from the Reference Data app, add a new controlled value to the annotation.
