Tutorial - Empty Racks / Barcode From a File

Introduction¶

In this tutorial, you will learn how to create five empty racks with specific barcodes loaded from a file.

Prerequisites¶

Required permissions

Sample Processing role is required to access this workflow.

Workflow¶

Job Creation¶

Create a new job and select the Empty Rack Creation workflow.

Requesting¶

Select File as the Request From.
Set Target Rack Barcode to Use External Barcode.
Select 96 (96) as the Rack Format.
Click Next.

Processing¶

Upload the file named barcodes.csv.
Select Semi-Colon as the file delimiter.
Click Upload File.

After uploading the file, map the columns from the file to the database fields:

Barcode: BARCODE
External Barcode: EXTERNAL_BARCODE
Click Next.

Storing¶

The Storing step allows you to assign a location to the items involved in the job. Five empty racks with specific barcodes (predefined in the file) have been automatically generated.

Click Assign Location to Selected.
Select Paris > HTS Lab and click Select to confirm your choice.
Click Next.

Pipe & Close¶

The Pipe & Close step provides a summary page where you can review the job and optionally pipe it to another workflow. For this tutorial, click the Close & Quit button to finish the job.
